Democracy is not an event held once every five years — it is a daily practice. Janasakthi organises ordinary citizens to demand transparent, accountable and humane governance at every level.
Governance in India's cities and towns is often invisible to ordinary people — budgets are not published, promises go untracked, and grievances disappear into a bureaucratic void. Citizens are consulted only at election time.
Meanwhile, public money meant for roads, schools, water, and sanitation is routinely delayed, diverted, or wasted — with no mechanism for residents to demand answers.
Janasakthi builds ward-level citizen networks that track public spending, attend government meetings, file RTIs, and publish what they find — in plain language, in every language.
We do not stand for election. We do not align with any party. We stand with residents — across lines of caste, class, and community — wherever the state fails to deliver.
Three volunteers in one ward begin attending monthly BBMP budget meetings and sharing summaries on WhatsApp.
